Donegal is set to benefit from new government funding for the creation of social housing.

Some €100 million has been allocated by the Government to provide more than 800 social houses nationwide- through local authorities and voluntary housing bodies for the next two years.

A combination of voluntary housing grants and local authority social housing worth almost €2 million has been assigned to Co. Donegal for forty-six units.

These units will be the last built under the current government and will largely be used to house the homeless, elderly and people with disabilities.
