Letterkenny Rovers are making their debut in the Airtricity Under-19 National League this weekend.
Their inaugural match is taking place this Saturday when they travel to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk.
The game may prove to be a baptism of fire For Anthony Gorman’s team, as Dundalk are one of the League of Ireland’s most prominent clubs.
Their debut has been marred by news that one of Rovers key players will be missing from their line-up.
Influential mid-fielder Dale Gorman will be missing the game, as he will be playing with the Northern Ireland Under-17s in Poland.
Letterkenny Rovers are competing in the Northern Section along with Derry City, Sligo Rovers, Dundalk and fellow Ulster Senior League club Fanad United.
The cup competition could see them face-off against any club in Ireland including established clubs like Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians or Cork City.
This Saturday’s match is taking place at Oriel Park in Dundalk at 2pm.
