Letterkenny YIC to provide Leaving Cert Results Helpline

Letterkenny Youth Information Centre will be providing a Leaving Cert results phone helpline for those receiving Leaving Cert results in the coming weeks.

The centre, which is managed by the Donegal Youth Service, will be open from 10am-6pm from August 15th onwards. The staff at the centre will be on hand to answer any questions students may have after receiving their results.

The service aims to support students and their parents by offering advice on how to calculate points, appealing to have papers rechecked and how to go about accepting an offer from a college. It also gives information on how to access alternative training courses.

Youth Information Officer, Martin Keeney, recommends that students take their time when determining their next step: “If you don’t get the results you want it is not the end of the world. You could repeat, take on a Post Leaving Certificate course, access other courses or find a career path through a state training agency.”

“We have information available on all these options so feel free to come in and have a talk to one of the staff or phone us in the centre.”
