Local entrepreneur Jim Murray, of Raphoe, Co. Donegal, has recently released his company’s (Troll inc.) first App for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, in the form of Jellyflug!
Jellyflug is a downloadable game available from the iTunes market, that sees you take control of Grash the bacterium, who is taken from its home by a household pet.
The game requires players to overcome obstacles in the traditional platform style akin to Super Mario, and in particular Yoshi’s Island.
A unique feature of the game is that the characters are all based on real world bacteria etc… albeit in a cartoon form.
Speaking with Donegalnow.com, Jim Murray, CEO Troll inc. had this to say about the birth of his company:
“Well there was me and three others, Mark Quinn, Gavin Mc Laughlin, and Delia Millan, who were fresh out of University around 2010, and we all really wanted to just start a Games Development company.”
“We participated in the 25K awards, and won the Digital Section of that. With the money from that award we started the company.”
The 25K award was only the first to be won by the company, as they have also won the Fastforward Start-up Business Award recently.
Based out of Derry, the company is proud to have finally launched its Jellyflug title and currently employs approximately 8 people.
Throughout the development of Jellyflug, Troll inc. had around 10 people working on the title, and looks forward to a long and prosperous future.
Jellyflug is available now from the iTunes market for €1.59
