Hot on the heels of their fantastic success with the Ocean FM Country Music Awards Ocean FM are bringing the best acts in country music to the Abbey Hotel for a memorable Mid Sumemr Dance on Friday 29th June.

Paul Kennedy of the Abbey Hotel said there had already been a hugelevel of interest in the event.

“It was just launched on Friday last and we have been inundated with calls. Its a great line up and a great idea. We are delighted to be working with Ocean FM on this and are looking forward to a great night”, he said.

Ocean FM’s Big Bernie Kane of the Country Jamboree said he too is looking forward to the night.

“To have Patrick Feeney, Lisa Stanley, John McNichol and Pat Ely all playing together is just going to be fantastic. I know myself from the requests we get in how popular these artists are. I will be there myself on the night and I’m looking forward to seeing lots of the Ocean FM listeners who are such great supporters of country music”, he said.

The line up for the event was released on Friday last with tickets now on sale at the Abbey Hotel in Donegal Town.

“Its just 15 euro for the night. Doors will be open at 8.30pm and we will have Patrick Feeney taking to the stage at 9pm so people are urged to be on time.

“The event will be a cabaret set up with people able to sit back and enjoy the music or take to the floor for a little dance if the mood takes them”, said a spokesman for Ocean FM.

Next up Lisa Stanley, daughter of the Country legend Maisie McDaniels will take to the stage. “It will be a great night. I couldn’t get over how successful the Country Music Awards were, it is going to be a night to look forward to,” she said.

Lisa, who hosts a slot on the Phil Mac Country Show was awarded ‘Most Requested Female Artist’ at the Country Music Awards.

“I love playing in Donegal. I know there are so many great followers of country music, it is a great place to play. I can’t wait to catch up with all the Ocean FM listeners who have been requesting my music which led to my award. I am planning a really special show to thank them all,” she said.

Local legend Pat Ely will take to the stage after the break and is sure to bring a significant following from the Donegal area. ”Pat is well loved by Country fans  in Donegal and I know there is already alot of interest in people wanting to see him play on the night”, said Big Bernie.

Topping off the night will be the Ocean FM most requested male artist John McNichol and his band.

“John is a lovely lovely fella. He really knows how to get people going and has a very personal touch when he plays. It is probably this uniquer talent that made him the Ocean FM most requested artist of the year.

“he is one of those artists who just loves to interact with the audience and you can be guaranteed a great night of dancing and craic”, said Big Bernie.
