The North West region’s electoral boundaries will be decided later today.
It's expected that in a new report due out later today, that it will be recommended to reduce the number of TDs for the region in the Dáil.
The Constituency Commission Report, which is due to be published this morning, is expected to recommend wholesale changes to constituency boundaries.
There has been speculation that the report will indicate the old Sligo-Leitrim constituency as being restored, whilst Donegal will merge to become one constituency.
It is thought the number of Dáil Deputies could be reduced by as much as eight, with constituencies in Dublin, Leinster, Munster and Connacht-Ulster all affected.
