After months of hard work, 11 couples took to the floor for the Dancing With Your Local Stars Christmas Special Charity Fundraiser.

The event took place in the Abbey Hotel last weekend and was a huge success.

The couples all delivered highly entertaining dance routines, but above all else, they were there to support causes close to their hearts.

With around 500 people present to cheer on their favourite couples, there was a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Each couple gave it their all but the eventual winners were Sean Coleman and Caitlin McGonagle. Aged just 16 and 17, they were the youngest couple in the competition. Their love for dance began only recently when Shona Tinney gave classes as part of Transition Year. They delivered one of the most polished performances on the night and were worthy and popular winners.

The event was organised by Shona Tinney who put in a huge amount of work with each couple.

Judges were Jim Timony, Lauren McDonagh, Sean McDermott and Caroline Bell.

As well as money raised on the night, each of the couples has been fundraising for their chosen charities. over the last few weeks and months. The final figures have not yet been announced, but all the participants are delighted with the response to date.
