An exhibition which celebrates 250 years of Donegal’s unique history and the relevance of local history for people living today is available to view at Ionad Teampall Chróine, Dungloe until August 31st from 9.30am until 5.30pm Monday – Friday and also on Saturday’s during July/August.

The exhibition is a showcase of  the varied collection of the Donegal County Archives. A total of 9 panels are on display based around the following themes – Homesteads, Donegal Wains, Fun and Games, Days of Toil, Faith and Worship, Landlords and Tenants, Conflict, Local Democracy and Journeys in Time/

The panels each contain a brief history of the themes and are accompanied by images scanned from the County Archives’ many collections. Images include photos, posters, leaflets, extracts from letters, registers, minute books and other items.
