The new Donegal Town Community First Responders (CFR) group hosted a very successful coffee morning in Donegal Town.

Hosted by the Bank of Ireland, the event took place last Friday.

As well as raising funds for training members and buying defibrillators, this was a great way to raise awareness for the group.

Shane Connolly who founded Donegal Town CFR said: “Thank you to all who came and supported the coffee morning and to the Bank of Ireland for hosting. We had a great response.”

Jimmy Stafford (Bank of Ireland), Shane Connolly (Donegal Town CFR) Mark Sharkey who has recently found fame as the villian of the Dungloe video which has gone viral, and Lizzie Csizma (Donegal Town CFR)

€1,128.10 was raised at the coffee morning. Combined with a donation of €1,000 from the Bank of Ireland, €2,128.10 was raised altogether on the day.

Community First Responders

This generous response will help the volunteers in Donegal Town CFR to respond to life threatening emergencies such as heart attack, stroke or choking under the guidance of the National Ambulance Service. Early intervention means that lives could well be saved while a patient is waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

New volunteers are welcome. More information can be found on the Donegal Town Community First Responders Facebook page.
