Buncrana's 'Gig of the Decade' finally comes rolling into town when The Plaza Ballroom rocks to the sounds of the eagerly anticipated Plaza for Gaza benefit night on Saturday, September 6th.

A star-studded line-up featuring a mixture of homegrown and international artists from the world of rock, jazz, folk, traditional, dance, and more will be treading the boards in aid of raising much-needed funds and assistance for hospitals caring for children injured in the recent siege of Gaza.

Inspired by Jerusalem-based Buncrana man John Cutliffe, whose online reports on the crisis inspired many people in Inishowen to get behind the event, social media has been bubbling with excitement as the gig is finally taking shape. One of Ireland's foremost jazz/blues singers and actress Honor Heffernan heads a massive line-up that includes Palestinian singer Samira Kharoubi, Larry and The Ladyboys, Kevin Doherty (Four Men and A Dog), alternative rockers Don't fear the Natives, Trad Against The Machine, local dance crew Studio 47, and much more!

Event tickets are available at a host of local outlets and Buncrana Credit Union have opened an account for those who wish to contribute. For more information see - http://www.facebook.com/plazaforgaza, http://www.plazaforgaza.wordpress.com, or @plazaforgaza on Twitter.
