The community of Letterkenny came together last Saturday to make a welcome improvement to the Church Lane.
Members of Letterkenny Men’s Shed gave a helping hand to the ‘Letterkenny Church Lane Renovation Project – The Cathedral Quarter’ and built a sturdy wooden gate for Grieve’s Field – located near the top of the lane.
Materials for the gate were supplied by the former Letterkenny Town Council, who also helped to hang the gate. Members of the Letterkenny Men’s Shed would like to thank the HSE and Letterkenny C.D.P for their continued support.
Mayor of Letterkenny Cllr. Paschal Blake officially opened the gate last Saturday in what was his penultimate duty in the role.
Members of the Cathedral Quarter campaign would also like to thank James Grieve for giving permission to erect the gate.
The Cathedral Quarter originally began as the Save the Church Lane campaign earlier this year and it has gone from strength to strength ever since, bringing the community of Letterkenny to achieve a common goal. You can view their Facebook page here - https://www.facebook.com/SaveTheChurchLane
