Tomorrow, December 21st, is the winter solstice – the darkest day of the year, it is also the day that hundreds of people will gather together from across Donegal in order to shine a light in remembrance of loved ones lost to suicide. The event will also reach out to people suffering from depression or suicidal thoughts - letting them know that there can always be light and hope even in the most darkest of times.

The Suicide Awareness event will be held in the Finn Valley Leisure Centre, Stranorlar from 7.00pm on Sunday, December 21st. It is a chance for people to come together and peacefully remember their loved ones, especially at this time of year.

Members of the public are free to bring their own candles and refreshments will be provided.
