Record numbers are expected for this year’s Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival.

This year marks the festivals 12th year, and festival chairperson Cllr. Barry O’Neill is confident it will be one of the best year’s yet: “We will have the biggest international audience in the 12 year history of the festival attending later this month with weekend tickets for the Big Top Concert selling in 25 countries to date.

“Music fans and visitors are attending from all over the world, from as far as Australia, Canada, USA, Turkey, and Brazil. It’s a fantastic tribute to the late Rory Gallagher, but it also underlines Rory’s worldwide following 19 years after his untimely passing.”

Cllr. O’Neill also said that accommodation was being booked at a rapid rate in Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Rosnowlagh, and Donegal Town.

First established in 2002, the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival has become Ireland’s leading Blues n’ Rock Festival, honouring the life, music, and legacy of Rory Gallagher.

Swarms of people descend on Ballyshannon every year for the festival, while the town has a normal population of 2,500 during the festival the town’s capacity reaches an excess of 7,000 people.
