Excitement is mounting in the seaside town of Bundoran for the Summer Carnival, which happens over this weekend – Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.
A mixture of circus skills workshops, Punch and Judy shows, magic shows, sandcastle competitions, facepainting, street performers, craft fair, artisan foods and a fireworks display will ensure that every member of the family will be catered for right across the weekend.
As part of the weekend celebrations a Street Performer Competition will also take place on Saturday afternoon where street acts from all over Ireland are invited to participate in this competition which is all about entertaining the masses on the streets of Bundoran – a prize fund of €1,000 sponsored by Bundoran Adventure Park. The highlight of the weekend is sure to be the massive fireworks display, which will take place on Main Beach just after sundown (around 10pm) on Saturday. Sponsored by Discover Bundoran, the display will light up the night sky to an exciting soundtrack – the first display of its kind that the town has seen in many years.
Not to be forgotten on the Sunday is the sandcastle competition, which will be held on Main Beach. Nemo the Magician will be performing his magic at Bundoran Adventure Park with lots of kids activities as well, including face painting.
