The seaside town of Bundoran held its Summer Carnival earlier this month.

The event was a mixture of circus skills workshops, Punch and Judy shows, magic shows, sandcastle competitions, facepainting, street performers, craft fair, artisan foods and a fireworks display, ensuring that every member of the family was catered for right across the weekend.

As part of the weekend celebrations a Street Performer Competition took place where street acts from all over Ireland were invited to participate in the competition. The focus was all about entertaining the masses on the streets of Bundoran with a prize fund of €1,000 sponsored by Bundoran Adventure Park.

The highlight of the weekend was the massive fireworks display, which took place on Main Beach just after sundown. Sponsored by Discover Bundoran, the display lit up the night sky to an exciting soundtrack – the first display of its kind that the town has seen in many years.

Not to be forgotten is the sandcastle competition held on Main Beach. Nemo the Magician performed his magic at Bundoran Adventure Park with lots of kids activities as well, including face painting. The focus for the afternoon then shifted to Bundoran Retail Park where the Fringe Festival took place including a craft fair, artisan food, street performers and much more.
