Gaoth Dobhair have won the Donegal All-County League Division One title for the first time since 2006.

The Gaeltacht side went into today's game at Moyle View Park against Milford requiring just a draw to be certain of the silverware.

But they took the full points on offer as it finished:

Milford 1-7 , Gaoth Dobhair 2-19

Milford got the first point, but Gaoth Dobhair's first goal from James Ó Cearbhaill helped them to go in leading by  1-8 to 1-4 at the break.

In difficult conditions, Gaoth Dobhair always had the edge with Odhrán MacNiallais and Kevin Cassidy to the fore.

Milford kept plugging away with Tony McNamee giving his usual tigerish performance.

But the men from Magheragallon opened up a seven point league with just over ten minutes to go and never looked back.

And when Cian Mulligan bagged a second goal for Gaoth Dobhair late on it was all over.

Gaoth Dobhair still have one more league game to play.

The league was won last year by Kilcar.

Gaoth Dobhair will now surely be looking at trying to win a league and championship double.
