There are 324 hospital patients waiting on trolleys throughout the country, according to latest figures.

The Irish Nurses’ and Midwives’ Organisation (INMO) claimed today (Monday) that there are 11 patients waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH).

There are nine people on a trolley and two more waiting in wards, according to the INMO.

It said the total of 33 patients at University Hospital Limerick is the highest in the country.
