The African community in Donegal is holding a protest this afternoon to show their support for the abducted girls in Nigeria.

Over 200 girls were reported to have been abducted by Islamic militants as they were attending school. It has been claimed that the Nigerian army were aware of the raid but did nothing to stop it.

The abduction of the girls has gained worldwide attention with the campaign dubbed as ‘Bring Back Our Girls’.

Billy Banda, a People Before Profit Alliance election candidate for the Letterkenny/Milford area has organised today’s protest march, which will begin at 12.30pm from the Town Park to Tesco.
