All Garth Brooks concerts planned for Croke Park have been cancelled.
The news has left thousands of Donegal Garth Brooks fans deeply disappointed.
Many of them had queued for hours to get their tickets - some braving cold overnight temperatures - back in January.
Promoters Aiken Promotions confirmed today that having examined all possibilities all the concerts have been cancelled.
Last week the concerts were thrown into doubt after Dublin City Council voted to allow only three of the planned five concerts to go ahead, taking into account that Croke Park was not meant to hold concerts on more than three successive days.
Garth Brooks then issued an "all-five or nothing" ultimatium.
Despite frantic behind the scenes efforts to go ahead, the cancellation has left many out of pocket and headaches for many hotels and other businesses as well.
Ticketmaster is working on plans to refund tickets.
