Two pool just above the Castle Bridge in Buncrana has been restored to a semblance of its pre-August 2017 flood state.
The restoration was a collaboration between the Buncrana Anglers’ Association and Donegal County Council.
Donna Lynch (Chairperson, Buncrana Anglers’ Association) and Andrew Morrison (River Manager, Buncrana Anglers’ Association) were the link people between the anglers and the council.
Buncrana Anglers’ Association would like to acknowledge local landowner, Paudge Dorrian for allowing access to the river.
A spokesperson for Buncrana Anglers’ said the work took two days.
He added: “It just shows what can be achieved with modern machinery, one digger and a dumper truck.
“There were another 13 fish caught on the river this week. Some of the lucky anglers were: Johnny Morrison, Seamus Cooley, Derek Smith and Pat Kane.”
