An appeal has been made for the public to respect the litter laws.

The plea comes from the Carndonagh Tidy Towns Committee following their recent Spring Clean of the town and surrounding area.

A spokesperson said: "The Carn Tidy Town Committee wish to thank everyone who came out on Good Friday for the big Spring Clean.

"There was a huge amount of rubbish collected and, as a result, the town and surrounding areas are much cleaner."

"We appeal to the public to respect the litter laws and use the bins and recycling centre for unwanted items."

The spokesperson concluded: "Remember, we meet every Tuesday at 6.30pm to paint, weed, etc. Come along to the Council Offices car park and we go from there. Keep Carn clean!"
