CCTV cameras are in use on a trial basis in one of the north-west’s busiest playgrounds.
The CCTV is being used to monitor the “sweet factory” play-area in the Bernard McGlinchey Town Park in Letterkenny.
Cllr. Dessie Larkin (FF) has asked that the CCTV coverage in the park is extended to cover a bigger area.
“CCTV is there for protection and is also a deterrent,” he said, adding: “We have a wonderful facility up there but there have been a few (anti-social) incidents.”
The initial contract for the provision of the CCTV cameras is one year.
