The fire service have been praised for prompt response to an overnight fire in Inishowen.
A young family are reported to have escaped the blaze which gutted their home the Ballyharry area of Culdaff in Inishowen.
A mother and her three children escaped the blaze uninjured.
The alarm was raised at around 2.30 this morning and while the emergency services reportedly attended the scene within minutes, the fire had already destroyed the house.
Councillor for the area, Bernard McGuinness, praised the prompt response of the fire service and said it was a miracle that lives were not lost.
An investigation is underway to what caused the blaze.
Speaking on Highland Radio, Cllr McGuinness the family and the community were in shock.
He said there was relief in the community that no one was injured.
He said the community would rally round the family "to see what we can do for them."
