How Letterkenny has changed? On this day back in 1975 RTE broadcast a piece about Letterkenn in its Portrait of an Irish Town series.
It is now available on line and to see more click here
In the short piece, the narrator talks about the proliferation of bars and cafes in the town of 5,000 people.
It also notes that denominationally mixed inhabitants "live in apparent harmony - their relationship seemingly undisturbed by events a few miles away across the border!"
There are some interesting shots of the town, parts of which have changed more than others.
