An office development has been approved by Donegal County Council in Killybegs for a site between St Catherine's Well and the new pier.
It has been approved despite hundreds of signatures raised in the community protesting the development.
The local History & Heritage Committee has had an ongoing campaign to prevent any further development in the area which contains the holy well, the ruin of Cat’s Castle and the 14th century St Catherine’s Church and graveyard.
Chairman of Killybegs History and Heritage Committee, Derek Vial, has said they are now considering lodging an appeal with An Bord Pleanala.
