Donegal County Council is reminding interested groups to avail of an incentive of €250 to start a Tidy Towns group.

This support is offered to groups that are doing excellent work in their local community but have not entered the national Tidy Towns Competition.

Donegal County Council hopes that encouraging such groups to be part of the Tidy Towns movement will have a positive knock-on effect on the county as a whole.

Environment Officer, Suzanne Bogan told the recent meeting of the Municipal District (MD) of Donegal: “We encourage groups to submit an expression of interest form. If there are interested groups we are happy to support them.”

As well as keeping communities clean, Tidy Towns is a support programme that encourages improvement year on year.

Expression of Interest Forms are available on Donegal County Council’s website at www.donegalcoco.ie/services/environment/tidytownscommunitygroups.

The closing date for submission of completed forms is Friday, May 26 at 4.30pm.
