Donegal student Mitchell Goudie (15) flew the flag for Donegal as he reached the finals of the first ever Google Call to Code online coding competition for post primary students.
He competed with 2,500 students in the first round of the competition which took place online to win one of 20 places in the final heat of the competition which took place at Google EMEA HQ in Dublin.
Mitchell who is a junior certificate student at the Royal & Prior Comprehensive school in Raphoe, attended the final heat and award ceremony with Teacher Seamus Maguire.
All 40 finalists, including Mitchell, received a *MaKeyMaKey unit which can be used to turn everyday objects into a touchpad and combined with the Internet.
