Donegal Town is to get a new €2.1 million library and community facility.
News that the the town is to get a new library, family resource centre and Foroige base has been welcomed by Deputy Pat The Cope Gallagher.
He said: "This is very welcome news for Donegal Town as these facilities are greatly needed in the Donegal Town and surrounding areas.
"The issue of a new Library for Donegal Town is one which I have been lobbying on for some time and this development is creating an innovative partnership with other community resource groups such as the Family Resource centre and youth service organisation Foróige."
Deputy Gallagher said: "I will be maintaining the pressure now in order to secure the necessary planning permissions and get this project up and running."
