Donegal Town Tidy Towns Committee and Donegal Town Community Chamber CLG say they want to clarify the arrangements regarding the upkeep of the local Old Abbey Graveyard, said to be one of the ancient sites where the annals of the Four Mssters were written.

Following a discussion in early June of this year it was agreed that

Donegal County Council would organise to have their section of the graveyard maintained until the end of the Summer Season.

Donegal Town Community Chamber CLG Community Employment Participants would continue to upkeep the area designated to them as has been the normal practice during 2018.

"We would like to thank Donegal County Council,Local elected members for their assistance and support with this matter. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Community Employment Participants, Donegal Town Tidy Towns workers, the volunteers who continue to work tirelessly throughout the year in their own areas to keep DonegalTown looking its best for all our locals and visitors.

"As a group we are always looking for new volunteers to help us continue with our efforts to have Donegal Town looking its best at all times," they told the Donegal Post.

If you feel you would like to join them please contact Owen Howells Chairperson Donegal Town Tidy Towns on 087 9755113 or email [email protected] for this or any other queries you

may have.
