Out-going councillors Liam Blaney (FF) and John O'Donnell (Independent) are battling it out to top the poll in the Milford Electoral Area, according to the tally figures.

With 26 of the 28 boxes opened, Cllr. O'Donnell has a small lead.

But both will be elected.

This new constituency will feature a real battle for the third seat.

Out-going Cllr. Ian McGarvey (Independent) will face a stern challenge from Maria Doherty of Sinn Féin, and the Fine Gael duo of Noel McBride and Eimer Friel.
