Applications are now being sought for one of the top jobs in Donegal – with a salary scale from €79,733 - €101,579 a year.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology is on the hunt for a new Head of School of Business.

The successful applicant will also serve on the Institute’s executive board.

This is just one of a almost a dozen positions at the third level institute that are being advertised.

LYIT is also looking for a Head of Department of Business Studies which attracts a salary from €74,306 rising to €94,619.

Its School of Science is seeking assistant lecturers in five areas: Agriculture; Health and Social Care; General Nursing; Psychiatirc Training; and Veterinary medicine with maternity cover required in two further subjects, namely, Microbiology/Biotechnology and Food Science and Nutrition.

The assistant lecturer positions have a new salary entry level of €36,743 rising to €50,487.

LYIT is also seeking applications for an Internal Audit, Compliance and Process Improvement Specialist (salary, €45,849 - €56,031) and maternity cover for a Technician in Chemistry/Instumentation/Biotechnology (salary, €29,092 - €42,822 per annum).

The closing date for applications is July 19th.

Meanwhile, the Institute has been recently awarded Interreg IV funding for an Advanced Manufacturing centre and is recruiting for an Embeeded Systems Engineer. This is a five year contract starting at €38,787.

The Students’ Union is also inviting applications for a part-time GAA coaching position with the rate of pay to be agreed with the successful candidate.

LYIT caters for around 3,000 students from over 30 different countries. The main campus is in Letterkenny while the School of Tourism is in Killybegs.
