Five west Donegal men are doing a 5k run every day in January as a fundraiser for the Jack and Jill Foundation and the Children’s Ward at Letterkenny General Hospital.
Patrick Caulfield, Robert Wehrley, PJ Walsh, Martin O’Donnell and Brendan “Beanie” McGeehan got things underway on January 1st.
Brendan is the father of Leah McGeehan who has a mitochondrial condition, which affects her everyday living.
Wind, rain, hail or snow, it’s a case of go, go, go for the five.
People are welcome to join in if they like. All money raised will be distributed equally between the Jack & Jill Foundation and Letterkenny General Hospital’s children’s ward with funds used to buy equipment.
At the end of their great 5k challenge, there will be a country night in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties, on January 31st, to celebrate their achievement.
Sponsorship cards and raffle tickets are currently on sale with some fantastic prizes. Thanks are extended to all who have helped in any way.
