A former LYIT (Letterkenny Institute of Technology) student has received major recognition in the national and international media for his work in creating a “Map of the Future” of the Dublin transport links circa 2040.

Kevin Carter, from Letterkenny, a former design and creative media student, created a map of a future Dublin based on every possible transport plan.

He said he wanted people to realise how accessible the city could become if everything was linked.

The map features four tram systems, three rail networks and two metro lines. He included stops planned for existing lines and new ones for future lines.
