A free information session on Autism awareness will take place in Kilcar.
The event is being held today (Thursday) in Aislann Chill Chartha. It will run for two hours, from 6.45 pm to 8.45 pm.
It is designed to help parents and carers, as well as early childhood education workers, teachers, etc.
The aim of this free event is to enhance knowledge for those who care for people on the spectrum.
A range of topics will be covered. Firstly, there is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) itself – the definition, characteristics and behaviour in the young child.
Secondly, those present will look at how the features of ASD can impact on the young child.
And thirdly, there will be information on the communication and sensory difficulties that are associated with Autism.
