Hail, rain, sleet or snow, Irish Water has to go - that was one of the chants as thousands of people took part in an anti-water charges protest in Dublin today.

There was a strong Donegal presence with an estimated 1,000 people from the county making the trip.

Buses from all many parts of Donegal were organised for the trip which the Right2Water organisers are heralding as a major success.

Some of the protester were not happy with what they felt was some "undercover" reporting - with cameras recording in the crowd with people unaware.

This large turnout has reinforced the stance of many people who believe that the controversial charges should be scrapped.
