Irish Water will begin the installation of water meters in Inishowen in the next fortnight.

It is understood that Irish Water have sent letters of notification to residents in Inch and Buncrana, which provides 14 days notice to households. 

The information packs provide a basic outline of why water charges are being introduced, and some advice to householders. It also provides an outline of the meter installation process.

A spokesperson for Irish Water said: “As advised in the notification, the actual fitting of the meter box and water meter may take up to two hours and your water supply will be interrupted from time to time throughout this period.”
