Garda Keith Harrison has been named as the latest Garda Whistleblower by Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty.

The latest Garda Whistleblower is understood to be based in South Donegal.

According to Deputy Doherty Garda Keith Harrison was victimised after he arrested a serving member of the drugs unit in Westmeath for drink driving, and following the arrest Garda Harrison was kept on office duties while the case against the offending officer was dropped.

Deputy Doherty claimed he was contacted over a month ago by Garda Harrison, who was concerned about malpractice in the Westmeath district and he felt confident to go forward with the case on the day Alan Shatter resigned as Minister.

The Sinn Féin TD said that Garda Harrison, who is reported to live in North Donegal, was meeting with the confidential Garda recipient today to hand over a file on the affair.

According to Doherty Garda Harrison wrote: "“Never in my life have I felt so alone, tortured and disappointed”.

The latest Whistleblower revelations came during a debate on the Guerin report, which was critical of how allegations made by Garda Sergeant Maurice McCabe were handled by Gardaí, former Justice Minister Alan Shatter, and the Dept. of Justice.
