Letterkenny Gaels GAA Club this week announced an eight-night run of the Sam Cree comedy play Second Honeymoon at the clubroom at Pairc na nGael, Thorn Road, Letterkenny.
This will be the fourth comedy play hosted by the GAA club in as many years.
The cast and crew are working hard to bring another hilarious comedy to the stage. Early signs are that it promises not to disappoint.
Sam Cree is a Co. Antrim born playwright who wrote popular comedies such as Widows’ Paradise, Separate Beds and Don’t tell the Wife.
He also wrote for the Carry On films and English comedians such as George Formby and Arthur Askey.
Letterkenny Gaels Stalwarts Gary Coll, Celine Bradley, Brian Sweeney and Sheila Sweeney return to the stage for this year’s production, which will see Gary Coll in the director’s seat for the first time.
Catherine Cannon returns this year after making an impressive debut last year in Separate Beds.
This year’s production will see some fresh faces with Brigette Kavanagh, Liam McLaughlin, Paul Brady, Andrew Coll, Rachel McGettigan and Alan McCrea all making their Letterkenny Gaels stage debuts.
The cast is completed a veteran of the stage Rose Mary Gildea.
The hard-working cast and crew have been practicing for the last number of months under the guidance of director Gary Coll.
Club member Gary has over 20 years experience acting in plays, musicals and pantomimes.
Gary said: “This is the fourth year for the club to take on a major stage production and it’s moving along nicely so far.
“We have a very talented cast and a hard-working production team in place.”
He added: “Second Honeymoon is one of the funniest Sam Cree plays I have worked on and audiences will not be disappointed this year again.
“Due to the success of the previous plays, the tickets will be in high demand so my advice is to get your tickets early.”
This hilarious comedy will run for eight nights over two weekends from October 18-21 and October 25-28 in the Letterkenny Gaels Club room on Thorn Road.
Tickets can be bought at the Arena 7, George Sweeney’s Shop, Swilly Group Office on Business Park Road, from members of the cast or Letterkenny Gaels committee members.
