An application has been lodged with with Donegal County Council for a major new development at Drumlonagher in Donegal Town.
The development, if successful, would see the construction of a two storey filling service station of 950sq. metres comprising a retail shop, four fuel dispensing pumps as well as a two-storey restaurant with drive thru facility.
While the application does not mention the restaurant, it is believed that it will be a Supermacs restaurant.
There are also plans for 71 parking spaces, two HGV parking spaces, a set down bay for buses and a bicycle stand.
The development would also see the construction of an access road off the existing internal road to the R267.
The application was lodged last Thursday with Donegal County Council by a company called Koley Limited. The application is currently at pre validation level with a decision due date for July 5, 2017. A natural impact statement was also included with the planning application.
In a separate development, it is understood that Lidl may be about to expand their Donegal Town operations which could see a new and expanded facility becoming one of the largest in the country.
It is located on the other side of the Drumlonagher roundabout.
