Three members of the Letterkenny Athletics Club raised €2,220 for Donegal Down Syndrome Association through running the Dublin City Marathon.

Paul McMonagle, Barry Mackey and Gerard Mullen ran the Dublin City Marathon at the end of October.

Paul came up with the idea to raise some much needed finance for the local charity group back in the summer.

His club mates Barry and Gerard, decided to join in. Along with raising a large amount of money through sponsorship, all three lads also posted personal best times for the 26.2 mile distance.

The trio are pictured handing over the cheque at the Donegal Down Syndrome Office on Letterkenny's High Road to Sheila and Shaun McMenamin, Marie Lynch and Elsa Rodgers.

The three Letterkenny AC members extended their thanks to all who made a contribution to the cause.
