A Parent's Support Group meeting will take place in Carndonagh's Spraoi agus Spórt centre tonight (March 14) at 8.00pm.
The meeting is for Parents and guardians of children and young people with a disability and / or autism. All parents and guardians are very welcome to attend.
The Parent's Support Group is for parents and carers to come together to support each other. They will also be given the opportunity to hear more about the activities on offer at Spraoi agus Spórt for children and young people with a disability and / or autism.
Spraoi agus Spórt currently currently facilitates a youth club for children and teenagers with a disability. It also provides an SNA (Special Needs Assistant) support for these young people to attend ANY of the activities we offer, at no additional cost to the family.
The aim of this is to provide a service where the young people are partaking in fun and meaningful activities, in an inclusive and stimulating environment. This is also providing alternative respite for parents.
Spraoi agus Spórt is currently expanding and developing this service for all. It also plans to develop a new youth space for teenagers, which is inclusive.
Spraoi agus Spórt believes the voice of parents and young people is crucial in the planning of all of its activities, and will be bringing guest speakers to the parents support group from time to time.
