Tonight will be a special occasion for past and present members of the North West 10k Committee as a Civic Reception is being hosted in their honour by the Letterkenny Town Council.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Dessie Larkin made the Civic Reception proposal during the last formal meeting of the Town Council.
The committee has extended an open invitation to all those that have been associated with the organisation over the past 18 years to come along and share the special night.
The reception will be one of the final acts of the Letterkenny Town Council, which will shut down for good on Friday.
Many people have been involved in different ways with the North West 10k since it was set up in 1996. Chairperson James Boyle is inviting those people to come tonight.
An open invitation has also been extended to representatives of all the charities to come along tonight. Over the past 18 years 30 charities have benefited to an overall total of €656,000 from the North West 10k.
The Civic Reception gets underway at 7.00pm in the Letterkenny Public Services Centre tonight.
