A spokeswoman said he would be meeting his campaign team tomorrow (Monday) to decide on their strategy for the final week.
Writing in today's Sunday Independent, Derry native Mr. Casey said he took the decision to continue to contest the election after being inundated with messages of support.
On Friday, Mr. Casey said that he would take time over the weekend to assess matters after his controversial comments in relation to the Travelling Community.
Meanwhile, he also contents that Ireland is a "welfare-dependent state" which has led to a "sense of entitlement that's become unaffordable".
Mr. Casey is a successful businessman and is a resident of Inishowen.
