Oil prices this week have hit their lowest level in six years, with speculation that they will still fall even further. 

This fall in prices has been reflected at the petrol pumps across Inishowen, with fuel prices at an unprecedented low across the peninsula. Diesel has fallen to under €1.20 in many filling stations in Inishowen, with petrol under €1.30. 

In a survey of ten filling stations across Inishowen conducted by the Inish Times, Applegreen filling station in Ludden had the lowest diesel price at €1.17.8, and Go Filling Station in Culdaff had the lowest petrol price at €1.26.90. 

In October last, the average price of petrol per litre in the country was €1.55.90, and at the time of going to print, it stands at €1.29.90. Likewise with diesel, in October the price averaged at €1.45.90, and today it stands at €1.21.90.
