The family of a young woman left fighting for her life after a car crash in Bundoran have appealed to people to keep praying.
25-year-old mother Rachel Elliot received life threatening injuries in the single vehicle crash that claimed the lives of Shiva Devine and Conall McAleer.
As Shiva and Conall both aged 20 were laid to rest last Tuesday and Wednesday in Ballintra and Ederney respectively, Ms Elliot was in an induced coma in Beaumont Hospital. But after surgery on Monday, the family believe that prayers are working. Rachel is reported to have opened her eyes.
In posts on social media her family say it is too early to say what the outcome will be. But they have strong faith and they ask that people keep praying for their beloved Rachel who sustained serious injuries to her head, back and pelvis.
Two other men were also seriously injured in the crash which occurred at East End, Bundoran at 3.35am on Sunday, August 19.
The driver was arrested after presenting himself at Ballyshannon Garda Station. He was later released without charge and a file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
