Villagers in the seaside village of Rathmullan gathered yesterday evening for a welcome party for the school kids from St Joseph's National School who scooped a top award at the FiS National Schools Film Awards at the Helix in Dublin.

Their short animated film entitled: 'Gone but not Forgotten' depicts Rathmullan's story about The Flight of the Earls, and was created by the children, working with Cormac O'Kane from the LYIT, and was premiered at the inaugural Rathmullan Film Festival last year.

This is a fantastic achievement for the children, Rathmullan and for Donegal and special thanks goes Muinteoir Alma Kavanagh, Sharon Graham and Derek Brennan who worked tirelessly with the 5th and 6th classes to produce the award-winning animated film.
