Road crossing points are planned for four primary schools in the south of the county.
The May meeting of Donegal Municipal District (MD) heard that the four projects are in the design stage. It is expected that the work will be carried out later this year.
The report by Donegal County Council Roads Officer Mark Sweeney showed that Kilcar NS is to get a crossing point as well as a local footpath extension. Robertston NS in Ballintra will have a crossing point with associated signage.
The National School in Laghey is to get a crossing point with footpath extension, as is St Eunan’s NS in Ballintra.
The total cost of work is estimated to be in the region of €100,000.
