Frustrated residents of an East Donegal housing estate are fed up with the problem of sewage running down their street.

There have been problems with effluent for around five years in the Hazelwood Estate in Lifford.

The pumping station for the treatment plant is not working, the developer has left the site, and they want Donegal Co. Council to help them out.

There are real concerns about health and safety implications, especially for children.

Condoms have been seening floating down the street and the hot weather is making the smell of the sewage even worse.

Wastewater is running for several hundred metres and out onto the main Lifford to Letterkenny road.

Some local residents have outlined the situation on our video clip.
