Hundreds are set to gather at the historic Grianan Fort in Burt at dawn tomorrow to welcome the start of the longest day of the year.

Féile Grianán Áiligh will celebrate the Summer Solstice at 4:55am with a Dawn Chorus and musical programme as part of the Derry Music City celebrations.

Led by the Inishowen Traditional Music Project and the Codetta Choir, music will be provided at various intervals, from 01:30am until 07:00am, both inside and outside the fort.

Off site car parking will be available from 1:00 am and costs €5 per vehicle which will include a ticket for passengers to board the shuttle bus, taking visitors up to the fort in comfort, and bringing them back down again afterwards.

For health and safety reasons, no vehicles will be permitted access to the upper car park at the fort.
