Two of Donegal’s most innovative food and drinks suppliers will be listed across Aldi's 132 stores nationwide as part of an Specialbuys Irish Food promotion kicking off on Thursday, August 23.
Natasha’s Living Foods and Killeybegs Catch Ltd. successfully won a place on the Grow with Aldi supplier development programme.
Natasha’s Living Foods’ Raw Coconut & Cacao Brownie Bar, and Killybegs Catch Ltd.’s Wild Albacore Tuna in Olive Oil will be available on Aldi’s shelves.
Natasha’s Living Foods began in Natasha Czopar’s (pictured above) own kitchen in Dublin, before moving to its current production facilities in Donegal’s Gaeltacht region.
Her gluten-free, vegan raw food treats and snacks promise consumers healthy options that don’t scrimp on flavour.
Led by John and Marianne Shine, Killybegs Catch Ltd. specialises in the catching and sale of wild Albacore Tuna – Ireland’s best kept seafood secret.
A migratory species, Albacore Tuna can only be caught off the coast of Ireland towards the end of August.
It is a rich source of protein, selenium and vitamin B-12 and contains more Omega-3 fats than most other species of tuna.
Welcoming the Aldi listing, Natasha Czopar, founder of Natasha’s Living Foods based in Derrybeg, Donegal said: “The support and mentoring offered by Grow with Aldi has already benefitted our business immensely, and we are excited to see our product made available to Aldi shoppers across the country.
“We believe we offer something truly unique and are thankful to Aldi for giving us the opportunity to share it.”
